3D Munkey walk cycle

Hello there,

This project we  had to make a walk cycle by using a monkey rig called Munkey. After trying out the walk on easy model of Burt finding out what I had to do. Munkey model is harder to work with as he didn't any knees.

Here is the rig Munkey before I Animated it the way I wanted too.

Here is my videos.

Munkey with the Help lines.

From the Front.

From the side.

From the back.

When I make video I made it a long walk but for some reason my clip was only a sec I don't know what happened.

I like this rig so much I made some pictures of Munkey laughing sitting on a box.

By using this box I made Munkey jump from the box its not great as it wasn't a project and I have not done a jump in 3D.

Burt the tester

Hello there,

Burt is a rig we got given that we had to make walk. This is mine it's not a project but I thought I should show you as I somehow had a problem I made a mistake and broke his leg.

Thank you for reading

2D Walking cycle

Hello there,

This is my Walking cycle I did a lot of research for this project. I researched walking, the human form and the human skeleton.

I looked at this photo by Muybridge. It's not great but the photo wasn't made for animation it was to see movement.

This the research I did on the walk cycle that other people has drawn. With the drawings I can see what other people can do. Not everyone's thoughts of the walk cycle is the same.

This is skeleton form I wanted to look at  where the bones will be as the animation we have to do is will lines or just a form we can put in detail yet.

Here is what I have made. it is not great as I didn't move my back right in my animation. I needed to put in more stretch and squash. I used colour so you can see what leg or arm is where.
It is a bit jumpy with the next walk cycle we need to draw next week I will see what I did wrong.

Thank you for reading.

Finished storyboards.

Hello there,

This is my finished storyboards. I wish I had more time to put more detail in my drawings but this is what I made with the time I had.

We had to put 3 drawings at a time one the board and write under it what was on the script. So the person that is reading it knows what is going on.

Storyboarding

Hello there,

A storyboard is a very important tool, helping direct the animaotrs and show them what to draw and how the story flows. We were given a task to create a storyboard, using a pre-written script. In reality, there would also be a character designer but we would have to create our own as part of the task.

I chose Ranger Rick’s Adventures Story by Gerry Bishop
(N.B. Ranger Rick is a Racoon)

EXT. DEEP GREEN WOOD

Ranger Rick, Scarlett Fox, and Boomer Badger are hanging around in Deep Green Wood as dusk settles in, with SF sitting on a rock, RR leaning against a nearby tree with legs and arms crossed, and BB idly kicking a pine cone lying on the ground. It’s a warm summer evening, and they’re wondering what to do for fun.

SF: I have an idea. Let’s go watch fireflies. I know a place where there are THOUSANDS of them!

BB: Cool! I just LOVE to make firefly rings!

Here are some early sketches to help work out what the characters are going to look like in my storyboard.

Ranger Rick

Here is my drawings of Ranger Rick.

Here is one of the Photos I looked at to see what a raccoons face looked like.

Scarlett Fox

This is my drawings of  Scarlett Fox. I don't think this is my best work for a character she is meant to be a fox but she looks more like a dog. I did a couple sketches but this was the best I could do.

This is one of the photos I looked at for Scarlett.

Boomer Badger

This is Boomer the badger. I think this one is the best out the 3 myself. I think i got the likeness of a badger there.

This is one of the photo's I looked for my badger.

I will write a new post with my finished storyboards.

Some drawings.

Hello there,

Here are some drawings I did when I was bored.

This is Jim my little character I used to draw when I was younger this is him older.

Two dragons fighting. I think I draw this because I was thinking of dragon wars and i wanted to watch it.

This drawing was only a test with water colours.

Thank you for reading.

Sketchbook work

Hello there,

Sorry it has been a while that I have write on here but here is some drawings from my sketchbook project I have been doing.

ANIMAL ANTICS

This task is draw animals from life all week.
Have a go at stylising them afterwards.
Think of them as though they were actors that you were casting for your latest film.
At the end of the week do a drawing of them all together on a page on the film set.

This is a study of Hero
Mine and my boyfriends pet axolotl.

This a study I did on wolves.

I have done more drawings for this project but it would be to much to put on.

TANGERINE DREAM

This task is care to look at the form.
Now make or draw an animation character based on the form of that piece of fruit.
(S/he doesn’t have to be a fruity character, just the shape).

This is my drawing of a orange.
I have made a orange bird and a orange faery.

And this is my apple and tomato.
I draw a apple monster and a tomato hippie.

There is more tasks and there is more to come.

Thank you for reading.

3D Model test

Hello there,

This a little test to see how to move a model. Hope you like what I have done.

This was my first test I wanted the model to look like it was saying I don't know.

For one test we have to hand in so see what we can do. So I thought of this one a model pointing at something (laughing or giving the look of death).

This is my finished one my model laughing at someone. I wanted to do this because I wanted to use a lot of movement.

This is going to be the one I am going to be handing in.

Zombies!!

Because I am a bit of a horror nut I had to make one with a zombie.

From this side you can see the zombie from the front going for the victim.

and from the side seeing both models in full.

and now be hide the zombie looking the fear of the victim.

2D Take or double take

Hello there,

With this task, we have to do a double take.
We had to start off with the character in the middle of the screen relaxing and doing nothing.
Then we had to draw him glance to the side pause him looking then looking back to the middle then look again but now make me act what he has just seen.

I have made 2 does I don't think that first one I made didn't look right but the second to come out right as well I think. Don't think this was my week.

This is my first one this one is a bit longer then my second one.

Thank you for reading.

3D Ball and chain

Hello there,

With This Task, with a rope we had to move a ball and chain side to side with the right movements and overlap.

I don't think I did the overlap right way and the movement doesn't look right.

Thank you for reading.
